Planning for a seaside vacation? And worried about your hair? Seaside vacation can be fun, sun, surf, and great bodies but can prove nightmare to your lovely locks. The hair needs extra care, as it is more prone to damage. The fact is the two weeks holiday may prove costly as the damages done to the hair is comparatively more than the damage done in an entire year. The natural oil gets ripped off along with the moisture. Sea salts can lead to dull, limp hair with split ends. Here are some ways by which you can easily take care of your hair and can enjoy a wonderful vacation: -
- Trim your hair- It is suggested to get the hair trim a week before the holiday. The splits, unkempt ends and worn out layers can be leveled. Ta-da and you are game with a trendy look in your holiday as well.
- Go for a perm- Perms are the best options to manage hair. Opt for soft perms as it suits well for most kinds of hair. The advantage is that one doesn’t have to blow dry or flatten them every time you return to your room, worried about the looks. Get the perm done 10-15 days before you leave for vacation.
- Skip the coloring- If you are planning to sport the new color then keep it aside for a while. Seawater, wind and sun can alter the color. This may leave you more in miserable condition. The highlighted hair is more prone to damage and change in color. The chemicals present in water may react and can change the color to a lighter shade. For those who have already colored hair rinse it off as soon as possible.
- Protect from sun- A hat or a scarf is a smart way to protect the hair from hot sun. Other alternative way is to use a sun shielding spray or gels.
- Wash your hair- After dipping in salty water remember to wash your hair everyday. It is important that the hair should get rid of all the impurities, sand, salts and sprays. And try to keep the hair out with a protection like a swimming cap while swimming.
And finally ensure and checklist that you are carrying your shampoo, conditioner, comb, hat or a scarf and sprays.
